Are HMOs really a dying breed?

چکیده
Dan Beckham's "The Beginning of the End for HMOs," a two-part article in the Nov./Dec. 1997 and Jan./Feb. 1998 issues of this journal, contends that the capitation/channeling model of healthcare and the entire HMO industry that has been built on it is dying. In a recent letter, Jeff Goldsmith, noted healthcare futurist and frequent contributor to this journal, raises questions about Beckham's article.

A Novel Hybrid Nano Scale MOSFET Structure for Low Leak Application
In this paper, novel hybrid MOSFET(HMOS) structure has been proposed to reduce the gate leakage current drastically. This novel hybrid MOSFET (HMOS) uses source/drain-to-gate non-overlap region in combination with high-K layer/interfacial oxide as gate stack. The extended S/D in the non-overlap region is induced by fringing gate electric field through the high-k dielectric spacer. The gate leak...

We analyze the determinants of HMO information technology outsourcing using two studies. Study 1 examines the effect of asset specificity on outsourcing for development and operation activities, using HMO specific fixed effects to control for differences between HMOs. Study 2 regresses the HMO specific fixed effects from Study 1, which measure an HMO's propensity to outsource, on HMO characteri...

BACKGROUND Human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) show a complexity and variety not found in milk of any other species. Although progress has been made in the past 3 decades with regard to identification and structural characterization of HMOs, not much is known about the physiologic functions of HMOs. OBJECTIVE As a prerequisite for biological activity in infant metabolism, HMOs have to resist e...
